2021 HOLIDAY HACKER: TURN 18 LEAVE DAYS INTO 48

Holidaaa-IE! Celebraaa-AITE! Madonna had it right all along and boy, don’t we know it after this wrecking ball of a year. We’ve all been dreaming of that relaxing getaway and we have so much to explore in our own backyard. So without further ado, we present you with the easiest way to take back control by turning 18 leave days into 48 days of straight up holidays.

CHRISTMAS BREAK, SEE YA 2020
From Christmas Day until January 3, turn three days off into 10 for a Christmas that’s merry and bright.

TAKE OFF. December 29, 30 and 31.
PUT ON. Sunscreen and your biggest holiday hat.
HEAD TO. Queensland

Sunny and full of life, Queensland is boasting incredible deals. Think sailing off to the Great Barrier Reef from Cairns or dancing outdoors at a swanky riverside hotspot in Brisbane. Sip cocktails by the beach on the Gold Coast or choose balmy nights along the Fraser Coast. Imagine making snowmen from the whitest sand in the Whitsundays?! Book in those leave dates, asap!

AUSTRALIA DAY…’S
From January 23 to 31, enjoy nine whole days of relaxation to celebrate this incredible continent.

TAKE OFF. January 25, 27, 28, 29.
PUT ON. Night mode on your camera and your artiest beret.
HEAD TO. Tasmania

Gondwana’s gone crazy this last year, so let’s cool things down, way down in Tasmania. Goodbye bushfires, hello Bay of Fires. The colours along this coastline will astound you. Finally, tick off Aurora Australis from your bucket list and see the Southern Lights. They can occur at any time of the year out from Cradle Mountain. Get a little weird at MONA and become immersed in art, the famous gallery is always offering something new.

GOOOOOOD FRIDAY, and Saturday and Sunday and Monday and Tuesday and…..
Good Lord, chocolate AND 10 days off? Thank you, Jesus. Make use of this miracle up from April 2 until April 11.

TAKE OFF. April 6, 7, 8, 9.
PUT ON. Stretchy pants and explorer shoes.
HEAD TO. South Australia

You may have just missed Adelaide’s iconic festival season but fear not, with daylight savings coming to an end around this time, we’re keeping 2021 simple Australia! With so many wineries to explore, you may want to ditch your watch anyway. Wander through rock formations eight times the size of Uluru at Wilpena Pound, jump over to Kangaroo Island and celebrate new life in this beautiful destination post-bushfires, or go underground to Coober Pedy and take home an iconic opal keepsake.

ANZAC DAY – RISK IT FOR THE BISCUIT!
Break out the ANZAC biccies, 2021 is looking better and better! Score nine days off from April 24 to May 2.

TAKE OFF. April 27, 28, 29, 30.
PUT ON. A light jacket and sandals, (or jandals).
HEAD TO. New South Wales

If we’re not visiting our neighbours across the ditch, we sure can get mighty close with a trip to NSW. Relax in Byron, take a dip at Bondi, or go full Sydney along Darling Harbour. Last occurring after rain in May last year, this could be your best bet to witness the magical bioluminescence at Jervis Bay. Wander gorgeous botanic gardens in the Blue Mountains to see autumn leaves at their finest or get even closer to our Kiwi friends across the Tasman to Lorde Howe and Norfolk Island.

HELLO AGAIN CHRISTMAS, WELCOME 2022!
Look forward to another 10 days off at the end of the year from Christmas Day to Jan 3.

Make like a Hemsworth and get a selfie with the cutest creature in the world! Found only on Rottnest Island, WA, quokkas will make Christmas a whole lot happier. While you’re at it, why not swim with whale sharks at Nigaloo Reef, weave through the prehistoric Bungle Bungles and wave buh-bye to 2021 with a trip to Wave Rock.
