Day 1: Rome, Italy
Welcome to Italy! On arrival, make your own way to the hotel to check in and relax for the rest of the day.

Day 2: Rome – Vatican City (B)
After breakfast at the hotel this morning, be guided through the ornate complex of the Vatican City. Learn the history and significance of famous works of art, enter the Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica. View Michelangelo’s pieta and conclude in St Peter’s Square. Enjoy free time to explore at your own pace for the rest of the day.

Day 3: Rome (B)
After breakfast at the hotel this morning, take a half day into Rome’s old city. The tour visits the beautiful Trevi fountain, then Piazza Colonna, to view the impressive Column in honour of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius. Walk on through Rome’s cobbled streets, to baroque Piazza Montecitorio. Visit the Pantheon (with an internal tour), erected by Emperor Hadrian during the 2nd century AD and preserving the biggest dome in the world. Continue on to Palazzo Madama, seat of the Senate of the Italian Republic before arriving at Piazza Navona, famous for Bernini’s ornate Fountain of the Four Rivers.
Enjoy free time to explore Rome for the rest of the day.

Day 4: Rome – Siena – Florence (B)
Leave the capital behind today and enjoy the views from your elevated, air conditioned coach as you travel through the heart of Tuscany, with a panoramic drive through Siena and on to beautiful Florence.

Day 5: Florence (B)
After breakfast this morning, a half day locally guided tour will introduce the heart of the city, with a visit to the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral and impressive Piazza del Duomo. Take in the unique street life of Florence as you walk the winding old streets to the Palazzo Vecchio, in the Piazza della Signoria. The tour ends in the Straw Market at the famous Fontana del Porcellino.

Day 6: Florence Free Day (B)
Take a relaxed start today, with a full day of free time to relax and explore Florence’s many piazzas, winding cobbled streets, galleries and landmarks. Soak up the city’s charm and delicious local cuisine from one of the stylish al fresco eateries.

Day 7: Florence – La Spezia – Cinque Terre (B)
After early breakfast at the hotel, travel to the famous and beautiful Cinque Terre coast. Enjoy a short local train ride into one of the 5 spectacular ocean-locked villages, with winding paths, boat filled bays and tiny cafes. Paved walks connect the villages and criss-cross the surrounding hills and are a beautiful way to explore the dramatic coastline.
Later, train back to La Spezia to relax for the evening.

Day 8: La Spezia – Bologna – Mestre (Venice) (B)
Today’s trip east to Venice includes a visit in Bologna to Parco Fico, a unique food-centric complex featuring eateries, pop-stores, demonstrations & hands-on exhibits of Italy’s finest produce.

Day 9: Venice (B)
Today’s 2 hour guided tour starts in the magnificent Piazza San Marco, the hub of Venice. See the Clock Tower, Napoleonic Wing and visit Basilica of San Marco, with its breathtaking Byzantine mosaics and glowing leadlight windows. The tour concludes after walking over the famous Rialto Bridge, one of the oldest and most important bridges in Venice, spanning the Grand Canal. Later today, experience a unique guided tour of Vecchia Murano – a traditional glass blowing factory, housed in a beautiful Venetian Palace.

Day 10: Mestre – Verona – Milan (B)
Take in the rural scenery on the short drive to Verona. Then join your local guide at the colourful Piazza Bra and visit Verona’s impressive Arena, still host to performances and opera. After visiting several other wonderful landmarks, enter the atmospheric cobbled street in which Juliet’s famous house and balcony are located. Finish the day with the comfortable drive to Milan, with free time to relax for the evening.

Day 11: Milan (B)
World famous as the Italian economic capital of fashion and design, Milan is also rich in art, history and culture. Your guided tour in Milan starts from Castello Sforzesco with a visit to the external architecture and garden. From the castle walk towards the Duomo, admiring the elegant buildings that surround the Piazza. Then, walk with your guide through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele to Piazza della Scala, which is overlooked by important buildings including the most famous theatre in the world: La Scala!

Day 12: Milan – Lake Como – Milan (B)
Today, enjoy a full day tour from Milan to the fairytale region of Lake Como, known for dramatic scenery, nestled against the foothills of the Alps. This is a great day to discover the timeless beauty of the Italian lakes, with included visits to Villa Carlotta and Villa Melfi’s breathtaking lakeside gardens.

Check out and be transferred to the airport for your flight home today.

This tour is suitable for children 10 years and older. There is no discount for children.

An initial deposit from $299 per person is required to secure your booking.

A second deposit from $1600 per person is required 8 months before departure.
The final balance will be due 4 months before departure.

If you are unable to travel due to government restrictions or supplier cancellations, we will waive our administration fees and assist with a date change, credit or refund less any unrecoverable third-party costs. Credits are subject to supplier conditions and fare differences may apply upon rebooking.

Each amendment incurs a $55 per person administration fee.

Cancellation after initial deposit: $150 per person administration fee.
Cancellation after second deposit: $300 per person administration fee.

Each person is entitled to a strict maximum of one bag not exceeding 20kg on tour, regardless of any other baggage allowance.
Porter service is not included and you are expected to carry your own bags.
Luggage and personal effects are your own risk and we hold no liability for lost or damaged belongings.

Tourist visas are not required for Australian and most other nationalities travelling to Italy.

It is the customer’s responsibility to check the country of departure and country of arrival’s COVID-19 restrictions. Our third party supplier partners (e.g. airlines, cruise lines, accommodation, tour operators etc) may also have additional restrictions. It is the customer’s responsibility to check that all travellers in your party also meet all requirements. The situation is fluid and as such country and state entry requirements, along with third party supplier requirements, are changing frequently. All travellers must comply with their final destination’s immigration and health requirements.

It is your responsibility to check all requirements with your local consulate, embassy or visa centre for the latest information regarding vaccination requirements. Should any mandatory quarantine or testing be required, this will be at your own expense and for you to arrange. Please be advised that any costs for these requirements will be at your own expense. Our consultants are not qualified to advise you on vaccinations. Please contact your doctor or a specialist vaccination clinic for advice.

Final documentation will be emailed within two weeks of departure of the respective travel component.

The itinerary and its order, sightseeing and transportation may be adjusted as deemed necessary for optimum safety, enjoyment and operation of the tour.
If attractions are not available due to reasons beyond our control such as closures or adverse weather, similar alternatives will be provided where possible.

Included admissions provide general entrance to the attraction and do not include secondary admissions or expenses inside the venue.
Any reference to ‘optional’, ‘not included’ or ‘exclusions/excluded’ means at your own expense.

The indicated length of trip does not include time in flight and is subject to change depending on the final flight schedule.
Flights are booked approximately 8 to 10 months prior to departure. The flights included in your package are based on a specific predetermined airfare allowance. Should there be a significant increase in airfares, taxes or government fees at the time of booking flights, then an airfare supplement may be imposed. The flights team will discuss options with you prior to ticketing, should this situation arise. Flights may not operate daily or directly to your destination.

Tipping for guides and drivers is welcomed for good service in Italy. Budget approximately AUD$5-10 per person for your driver and approx. AUD$5-10 per person per day for your Tour Leader.

It is a condition of booking that you must always remain with the tour according to the prescribed program.
Departure from the group or deviation from the set itinerary are not permitted unless written prior consent is obtained, otherwise you risk cancellation of remaining land and air arrangements.

All efforts must be made to resolve issues on tour with the tour leader.
Complaints must be submitted in writing with substantiated evidence within 10 days of trip completion.

Please notify your guide of any special dietary requirements but note that choices may be limited or not catered for.

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended.

Force majeure means any natural disaster, accident, fire, act of God, act of war, terrorism, legally binding judgment, injunction, action of a court or other relevant authority, emergency, unplanned repairs, maintenance, strike, industrial dispute, work ban, blockade or picketing, travel ban, pandemic, epidemic or outbreak of infectious disease, or other event beyond our reasonable direct or indirect control.
In case of force majeure or other extraordinary event that prevents safe travel, we reserve the right to adjust, postpone or cancel the trip.
