Day 1: Arrive Istanbul, Turkey
Welcome to Istanbul! After being meet and transferred to your hotel, take the rest of the day to relax.

Day 2: Istanbul (B)
Today, experience a guided a tour of Istanbul’s Old City. Visit some of the city’s most captivating sites including the world famous Blue Mosque, majestic Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace and Museum – filled with fascinating relics and artefacts.
This afternoon, you have the option of relaxing, exploring on your own or experiencing an optional (not included) guided cruise on the Bosphorus River separating Europe from Asia.

Day 3: Ankara – Cappadocia (B, D)
After departing Istanbul this morning, head to Ankara, Turkey’s capital and the resting place of one of the country’s most celebrated leaders. Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was the leader of the Turkish War of Independence and the republic’s first president. His mausoleum is called Anitkabir.
We continue on until we reach magical Cappadocia, one of the most popular destinations in Turkey. The unique volcanic landscape is made up of atmospheric rock formations in strange and peculiar shapes.

Day 4: Cappadocia & Goreme (B, D)
Start today with a tour to Goreme Open Air Museum. Find a beautiful collection of churches and monasteries, sculpted deep into the rock. Take a close look at the impressive colourful paintings and frescoes from still visible on the ancient walls.
Then visit the aptly-named fairy chimneys of Pasabag, and the majestic castle of Uchisar. In the evening, there is an optional (not included) Turkish folklore experience, belly dancers included- a chance to end off the day in a memorable way.

Day 5: Cappadocia – Konya (B, D)
After breakfast, head to Kaymakli Underground City, to explore the fascinating tunnels and mazes. We then set off towards our next destination, Konya, by taking the famous ancient Silk Road.
En-route, stop off at the fantastic Sultanhani Caravansary. This ornate and soaring structure served as an essential roadside inn for travellers as they traversed the Silk Road from the 1200s. This is a wonderful stop that will give you an insight into life on the silk road for the traders.
When we reach Konya, pay a visit to the Mevlana Museum, the mausoleum of world-famous philosopher and poet Jalaluddin Rumi, as well Alaeddin Mosque, the largest and oldest mosque in Konya.

Day 6: Konya – Pamukkale (B, D)
The destination today is Pamukkale, one of Turkey’s most popular destinations. Stop on the way to explore the ancient city of Sagalassos. Extremely well-preserved, this city was conquered in 33BC by Alexander the Great as he made his way towards Persia. It thrived for a time, before eventually falling into ruin after an earthquake and plague epidemic.

Day 7: Pamukkale – Kusadasi (B, D)
After breakfast today explore the travertines of Pamukkale. This remarkable natural site is comprised of stark white calcium steps dotted with bright blue pools and hot springs, creating a magical contrasting landscape.
Then head to the ruined ‘Sacred City’ of Hierapolis, featuring temples and other religious sites. See its impressive and beautifully preserved theatre, as well as the enormous Necropolis.
Later, continue to the Temple of Apollo built in dedication to the Greek god of poetry, music, healing, and medicine. See also beautiful leather goods, handcrafted by local crafts people.

Day 8: Ephesus (B, D)
Head to the historic city of Ephesus this morning. The complex has been excellently preserved and restored; walk its ancient streets and explore it much as its original inhabitants might have done.
Then visit the Temple of Artemis; one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, before stopping at a carpet weaving village. This is an important traditional craft in Turkey, see first-hand how the process works.

Day 9: Kusadasi – Cannakale (B, D)
Enjoy a scenic drive today, heading north up the Mediterranean coast to visit the magnificent acropolis of Pergamum. Impressive temples and a library here made this a renowned cultural and political centre in its time. Our next stop is the ancient site of Troy, famous for Helen of Troy and the wooden Trojan Horse. Spend the night at a hotel overlooking the Dardanelles Strait near Cannakale.

Day 10: Gallipoli (B)
After crossing the Dardanelles Strait by ferry, tour the important World War 1 battlefield sites on the Gallipoli Peninsula, including ANZAC Cove, The Nek, Johnston’s Jolly, original tunnels and trenches and the Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair Memorials. Then, return to Istanbul.

Day 11: Istanbul Free Day (B)
Take advantage of a full day of free time in fascinating Istanbul. Sample more of the fantastic local cuisine, explore the wandering markets and diverse neighbourhoods, or revisit landmarks such as the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia at your own pace.

Day 12: Depart Istanbul (B)
Make your way to Istanbul International Airport at the appropriate time for your flight home today.

Solo Price from: $4690 per person

This tour is suitable for children 8 years and older. There is no child discount.

An initial deposit from $299 per person is required to secure your booking.

A second deposit from $1600 per person is required 8 months before departure.
The final balance will be due 4 months before departure.

If you are unable to travel due to government restrictions or supplier cancellations, we will waive our administration fees and assist with a date change, credit or refund less any unrecoverable third-party costs. Credits are subject to supplier conditions and fare differences may apply upon rebooking.

Each amendment incurs a $55 per person administration fee.

Cancellation after initial deposit: $150 per person administration fee.
Cancellation after second deposit: $300 per person administration fee.

Each person is entitled to a strict maximum of one bag not exceeding 20kg on tour, regardless of any other baggage allowance.

It is the customer’s responsibility to check the country of departure and country of arrival’s COVID-19 restrictions. Our third party supplier partners (e.g. airlines, cruise lines, accommodation and touring operators etc) may also have additional restrictions. It is the customer’s responsibility to check that all travellers in your party also meet all requirements. The situation is fluid and as such country and state entry requirements, along with third party supplier requirements, are changing frequently. All travellers must comply with their final destination’s immigration and health requirements.

Vaccination against Covid 19 is a legal requirement for entry into Turkey. It is your responsibility to have the correct documentation to hand upon entry. Failure to provide evidence of vaccination will result in your being denied entry and liable for any related costs.

Final documentation will be emailed within two weeks of departure of the respective travel component.

The itinerary and its order, sightseeing and transportation may be adjusted as deemed necessary for optimum safety, enjoyment and operation of the tour.
If attractions are not available due to reasons beyond our control such as closures or adverse weather, similar alternatives will be provided where possible.
Included admissions provide general entrance to the attraction and do not include secondary admissions or expenses inside the venue.
Any reference to ‘optional’, ‘not included’ or ‘exclusions/excluded’ means at your own expense.

Departure from the group or deviation from the set itinerary are not permitted unless written prior consent is obtained, otherwise you risk cancellation of remaining land and air arrangements.

All efforts must be made to resolve issues on tour with the tour leader.
Complaints must be submitted in writing with substantiated evidence within 10 days of trip completion.

Please notify your guide of any special dietary requirements but note that choices may be limited or not catered for.

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory and insurance details will be required by the ground operator prior to commencement of the tour.

Force majeure means any natural disaster, accident, fire, act of God, act of war, terrorism, legally binding judgment, injunction, action of a court or other relevant authority, emergency, unplanned repairs, maintenance, strike, industrial dispute, work ban, blockade or picketing, travel ban, pandemic, epidemic or outbreak of infectious disease, or other event beyond our reasonable direct or indirect control.
In case of force majeure or other extraordinary event that prevents safe travel, we reserve the right to adjust, postpone or cancel the trip.
