Day 1: Arrive Casablanca

Welcome to Morocco! On arrival, make your own way to your hotel to relax for the rest of the day.

Note that flights will depart Australia on Day 0.

Day 2: Casablanca – Marrakech 242 kms (B, D)

This morning after breakfast experience the sights and sounds of Casablanca on a panoramic city tour. Your air-conditioned coach will take you to Hassan II Mosque, which towers over the coastline, Mohamed V Square and past the imposing Royal Palace. Later in the day the coach will depart for Marrakech.

This evening experience the sights and sounds of Djemaa el Fna, a vibrant square of the edge of Marrakech’s medina and a colourful stage for performers, acrobats and storytellers. Conclude you day with an unforgettable feast with live music and entertainment, all in a Moroccan palace.

Day 3: Marrakech – Bin El Ouidane (435km) (B)

After breakfast at the hotel, visit some of Marrakesh’s remarkable landmarks, including the  magnificent 12th century Koutoubia mosque, with its soaring 70 meter-high minarets. See the ornately decorated Bahia Palace before relaxing on the drive to Bin El Ouidane.

Day 4: Bin El Ouidane – Fez (359km) (B)

After breakfast, head to Fez and on arrival take a sightseeing tour through the extraordinary cultural and spiritual centre of Morocco. The Medina; Fes el Bali, is a vast labyrinthine network of winding alleys hemmed in by the imperial city’s ancient walls. Experiencing the bustle, music, shouting and smells of tanned leather, oriental perfumes, barbecues and sweet pastry is unforgettable. Continue with your guide through the rustic narrow streets of the Mellah, the former Jewish district.

Day 5: Fez – Chefchaoun – Tangier (309km) (B)

Breakfast at the hotel is followed by the drive to beautiful Chefchaoun. The famously blue walled city is situated in the Rif Mountains. Enjoy a walk to explore the white and blue washes walls of the medina and the markets that offer some unique local handicrafts. Chefchaouen is a fantastic destination for photography, with its wonderful vistas and photogenic maze-like alleys, most painted in shades of blue. Later, continue to Tangier on Morocco’s north coast, with free time this evening.

Day 6: Tangier – Ferry – Algeciras – Seville (276km) (B)

Start the day with breakfast at the hotel before transferring to the ferry terminal. On arrival in Spain, meet your new tour driver and relax on the drive to Seville, with free time this evening.

Day 7: Seville (B)

This morning, tour the capital of Andalucia and Spain’s fourth largest city – Seville with an expert local guide. There is much to see in this photogenic city, from the colourful tiles of the Spanish Square, to the 1929 pavilions and the La Giralda tower rising above the third largest Cathedral in Europe. During the tour through the narrow streets of the Jewish Quarter, discover hidden squares and courtyards cooled by fountains and orange trees amongst the winding streets and quaint houses. Enjoy free time for the rest of the day and evening.

Day 8: Seville – Evora (326km) (B)

Relax today, in airconditioned comfort as your travel across the south of Spain to Evora in Portugal!

Day 9: Evora – Lisbon (132km) (B)

After breakfast at the hotel, join your expert local guide for a walking tour through Evora. Visit the most impressive landmarks, St Francisco Church, Evora Cathedral and the towering Roman Temple.

Later, on the scenic coastal route to Lisbon, you may stop at Sesimbra – a picturesque fishing village – and Cabo Espichel for stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 10: Lisbon (B)

Meet your local tour guide after breakfast today, and head into the city for a half day city tour. Take in one of the Lisbon’s most important monuments; the Monastery of Jeronimos, containing the tombs of Vasco da Gama and Camoes. Then onward for a photo stop at the Torre de Belem, an iconic symbol of the city; the Moorish Citadel and the Black Horse Square. Walk in the Alfama district of narrow, labyrinthine streets; the picturesque old quarter.

Take advantage of free time for the rest of the day to explore more Lisbon’s historic centre and sample some the region’s incredible local produce.

Day 11: Lisbon – Salamanca (476km) (B)

Your tour travels from Lisbon into Spain today, concluding in Salamanca for and afternoon and evening of leisure.

Day 12: Salamanca – Avila – Madrid (218km) (B)

Join an expert local guide and discover some of UNESCO-listed Salamanca’s most impressive landmarks, including the stunning, ancient University and cathedrals. Later, a local guide will take you on a relaxed walking tour in the ancient city, Avila, famous for its medieval city walls and thousands of turrets.

The day ends on arrival into Madrid.

Day 13: Madrid (B)

Explore the vibrant city of Madrid today. Be guided on a walk through lovely plazas, past monuments, palaces and ornately decorated covered markets. Visit impressive San Francisco el Grande, an art filled church with one of the largest domes in Europe. After the walking tour, your time is free to sample some of Madrid’s world-famous food and beverages and soak up the vibrant street life.

Day 14: Madrid – Barcelona (622km) (B)

Your Tour Leader will travel with you to Madrid train station and onward on your fun and scenic rail experience to Barcelona today. On arrival, be transferred to the hotel for check in and to relax.

Day 15: Barcelona (B)

Barcelona is defined by the architectural works of Gaudi. Today, you’ll see the immense Sagrada Familiar and visit Paseo de Gracia – site of several of Gaudi’s most distinctive and beautiful buildings; the houses Morera, Ametlier, Batlo and Mila. Free time later could be spent sampling tapas and local seafood in some of the many excellent mercados and welcoming bars and cafes that make up the Barri Gotic, Ramblas and El Born neighbourhoods in the heart of the city.

Enjoy a full day of free time to further explore the vibrant city and its many attractions.

In case of force majeure or other extraordinary events that prevents safe travel, we reserve the right to adjust, postpone or cancel the trip.
