ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive Copenhagen, Denmark

Welcome to Europe! Upon arrival into Copenhagen airport, make your own way to your centrally located hotel for the night.

Note that flights are likely to depart Australia on Day 0. You final documents will include departure information.

Day 2: Copenhagen (B)

After breakfast at the hotel this morning, take a guided tour into the heart of Copenhagen, full of historical buildings and ancient streets. See the Little Mermaid the Gefion Fountain, the Royal residence Amalienborg Palace and Nyhavn Canal with its charming restaurants and picturesque cafés, the Christiansborg Castle, the home of the Danish Parliament, the Royal Opera House, and many more sights.

After the guided tour, visit Tivoli Gardens; lit up with beautiful Christmas decorations and full of seasonal stalls to browse. Then explore Copenhagen on your own and enjoy the many Christmas markets the city has to offer.

Day 3: Copenhagen (B, D)

Today, visit the impressive Christiansborg Palace. The complex contains the Danish Parliament Folketinget, Supreme Court, and the Ministry of State. The Royal Reception Rooms include the Tower Room and Oval Throne Room, where foreign ambassadors to Denmark are received by the Queen.

Overnight, sail from Copenhagen to Oslo on a DFDS Seaways ferry. Stay in a Seaview Cabin with en suite and single beds. Dinner is included.

Day 4: Oslo (B)

After breakfast onboard and disembarkment, tour Oslo with the experienced local guide. Admire the Royal Palace, National Theatre, Parliament, waterfront Opera House and the medieval Akershus fortress Enjoy time to wander the peaceful Frogner Park and adjacent Vigeland Park, filled with the sculptural works of Norwegian artist, Gustav Vigeland. After the guided tour, visit the Spikersuppa Christmas market to try local delicacies and browse traditional handicrafts.

Day 5: Oslo – Stockholm (B)

Relax and soak up incredible views as the comfortable, airconditioned coach travels through Sweden and into Norway today. Stop in pictureque Karlstad for lunch (not inlcuded) and a break, before concluding with check in to the hotel in Stockhom.

Day 6: Stockholm (B)

Todays tour of Stockholm, often referred to as the Venice of the North, starts in the Fjällgatan neighbourhood. See magnificent views of the Swedish capital, spread out over 14 islands with Lake Mälar on one side and the Baltic Sea on the other. Visit the Old Town with its fascinating narrow cobble-stoned alleys, the Royal Palace, Cathedral, and the City Hall where the annual Nobel Prize award festivities take place. The tour also visits the recreational island Djurgården, where many fine museums are found.

Later, visit Skansen; the oldest open-air museum in the world and home to Stockholm zoo, with animals native to Scandinavia. It is beautifully located on Royal Djurgården with spectacular views over Stockholm. 150 farms and dwellings from different parts of the country were disassembled and transported here.
Since 1903 the Christmas market at Skansen has become a holiday tradition. Stroll around the stalls and booth and stock up on traditional Christmas food and handicrafts.

In the evening explore Stockholm on your own. Visit the Christmas market in Gamla Stan, try mulled wine (glögg), gingerbread cookies and pick up some traditional Swedish handicraft.

Day 7: Stockholm – Helsinki (B, D)

After breakfast, visit Drottningholm Palace, Sweden’s best-preserved royal palace. Constructed in the seventeenth century. It remains the permanent residence of the royal family and is a World Heritage Site.

Later be transferred to the ferry terminal for your sailing from Sweden to Finland. The SIlja Line ship has multiple entertainment areas, dining options and bars. Relax in your private A Class Outside Cabin with en suite and dinner included onboard.

Day 8: Helsinki (B)

Sail into Helsinki this morning and enjoy breakfast onboard. Then, be guided on a tour of this fascinating and stylish city. See the famous Rock Church and Senate Square – surrounded by the Lutheran Cathedral of Helsinki, the Senate, the University and Library of Helsinki. Also visit the Sibelius monument, Olympic stadium, and striking new Opera House.

After the guided tour enjoy free time to explore Aleksanterinkatu, the official Christmas street of Helsinki, where shop windows are lavishly decorated to outdo each other and over 120 Christmas market stalls enliven the heart of the city.

Day 9: Helsinki (B, D)

Start the day with breakfast before being transferred to the ferry terminal and your day trip to Tallinn, Estonia!

On arrival, you’ll be met and guided on a tour of Talinn’s most significant landmarks. Admire Alexandre Nevski church, Dome Church and the 13-14 century castle, the seat of the Estonian Parliament. There will be time for photos, and to take in the views of the medieval town-wall and its towers. Then walk down to the Town Hall Square with the 15th century Town Hall, 15th century pharmacy and the buildings of Great Guild and Brotherhood of Blackheads.

Later, visit the Viimsi Open Air Museum and an authentic coastal village while observing the Tallinn City lights across the bay. Try your hand at baking gingerbread and enjoy them with traditional warm Christmas beverages while learning about Estonian Christmas traditions.

Return by ferry to Helsinki this evening, with dinner provided onboard.

Day 10: Depart Helsinki (B)

Check out of your Helsinki hotel after breakfast this morning and make your own way (approx. 25 minutes) to the airport for your flight home to Australia.

Note that flights will arrive in Australian on Day 11 or 12.

CHILD POLICY
Persons under 12 years old are not permitted on this tour. Children over 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult of 18 years or older.

^LOW DEPOSIT
An initial deposit from $299 per person is required to secure your booking.
A second deposit from $1600per person is required 11 months before departure.
The final balance will be due 3 months before departure.

BOOK WITH CONFIDENCE
If you are unable to travel due to government restrictions or supplier cancellations, we will waive our administration fees and assist with a date change, credit or refund less any unrecoverable third-party costs. Credits are subject to supplier conditions and fare differences may apply upon rebooking.

AMENDMENT FEES
Each amendment incurs a $55 per person administration fee.
Additional fees from third-party suppliers including airlines may apply.

CANCELLATION FEES
Cancellation after initial deposit: $150 per person administration fee.
Cancellation after second deposit: $300 per person administration fee.
Additional fees from third-party suppliers including airlines may apply.
If there is only one deposit, then the cancellation fee is $300 per person.

COVID SAFE PLAN
The tour coach will be sanitised regularly with a deep clean at the end of every shift. Hand sanitiser will be provided on the coach. Hotels are hand-selected for enhanced COVID-19 safety and hygiene protocols. Buffet meals may be temporarily suspended for set or a la carte menus.

BAGGAGE POLICY
Each person is entitled to a strict maximum of one bag not exceeding 20kg on tour, regardless of any other baggage allowance.
Porter service is not included and you are expected to carry your own bags.
Luggage and personal effects are your own risk and we hold no liability for lost or damaged belongings.

DOCUMENTATION
Final documentation will be emailed within two weeks of departure of the respective travel component.

PASSPORTS
Copies of passports valid for 6 months beyond trip completion is strictly required at the time of booking. You are liable for all fees due to incorrect or incomplete full names, or passports lacking the required validity.

VISAS
Tourist visas are not required for Australian and most other nationalities travelling to Scandinavia and the Baltics region for 90 days or less. Other passport holders should check with their embassy.

FLIGHTS
The flights included in your package will be provided when you receive your final documentation. Example default carriers include: Thai Airways, Qatar, KLM, Singapore Airlines, British Airways, Emirates or similar.
We will associate frequent flyer membership numbers to your booking but note that accrual of benefits is determined by the airline based on the prevailing fare issued.
Please speak to your travel consultant at the time of booking for premium economy and business class upgrade quotes.
All flights or airfare related fees and costs are due immediately upon confirmation by cash payment. Frequent flyer points redemption is not permitted.
Pre-set airline meals can be requested at the time of booking (or no later than one week before departure) and is subject to availability.
Flights may involve up to two transits.

ITINERARY
The itinerary and its order, sightseeing and transportation may be adjusted as deemed necessary for optimum safety, enjoyment and operation of the tour.
If attractions are not available due to reasons beyond our control such as closures or adverse weather, similar alternatives will be provided where possible.
The indicated length of trip includes time in flight and is subject to change depending on the final flight schedule.
Included admissions provide general entrance to the attraction and do not include secondary admissions or expenses inside the venue.
Any reference to ‘optional’, ‘not included’ or ‘exclusions/excluded’ means at your own expense.

HOTELS
Hotel star ratings are either local ratings or self-ratings provided by the supplier.
All rooms will be lead-in category or run of house unless otherwise stated.

TRIPLE SHARE
Triple share is not available on this package.

MINIMUM NUMBERS
This tour required a minimum group of 15 passengers required to operate, maximum 40 passengers per vehicle.

BREAKAWAY POLICY
It is a condition of booking that you must always remain with the tour according to the prescribed program.
Departure from the group or deviation from the set itinerary are not permitted unless written prior consent is obtained, otherwise you risk cancellation of remaining land and air arrangements.

BREAK FEE
A ‘break fee’ for early arrivals, stay behind or stopovers is collected for any deviations from the set dates and group tickets. Transfers are not included for arrivals and departures outside of the set group arrangements.

TRANSFERS
Group transfers are not provided on this tour  as arrival and departure hotels are centrally located and easily accessed from /to the respective airport.

FEEDBACK POLICY
All efforts must be made to resolve issues on tour with the tour leader.
Complaints must be submitted in writing with substantiated evidence within 10 days of trip completion.

DIETARY
Please notify your guide of any special dietary requirements but note that choices may be limited or not catered for.

FITNESS
A basic level of fitness is required for full days of brisk walking with intermittent breaks, roads and footpaths can be cobbled and uneven. European hotels may not have elevator access. This tour is not suitable for people requiring assistance or walking aid.

TRAVEL INSURANCE
Comprehensive travel insurance is required, your consultant will be happy to discuss insurance options with you.

USEFUL INFORMATION
Weather: Early Winter in the Baltic region has crisp, short days and temperatures averaging 1-5 degrees Celsius. Pack a good winter coat and warm boots.

FORCE MAJEURE
Force majeure means any natural disaster, accident, fire, act of God, act of war, terrorism, legally binding judgment, injunction, action of a court or other relevant authority, emergency, unplanned repairs, maintenance, strike, industrial dispute, work ban, blockade or picketing, travel ban, pandemic, epidemic or outbreak of infectious disease, or other event beyond our reasonable direct or indirect control.
In case of force majeure or other extraordinary event that prevents safe travel, we reserve the right to adjust, postpone or cancel the trip.
