Day 1: Arrive Gold Coast
Upon arrival, make your own way to the hotel to begin your Gold Coast adventure. The jewel in the crown of the Gold Coast is undoubtedly Surfers Paradise, one of the country’s most recognised destinations.

Day 2: Whale Watching Cruise & Free Time (B)
Get as close as possible to magnificent humpback whales during their annual migratory period just off the coast of lovely Surfers Paradise. Incorporating a scenic waterways cruise along the Nerang River, the 3.5 hour journey will take you out onto the Gold Coast Broadwater to spot a variety of whales as they breach and play in the waters alongside the vessel. The rest of the day is free to explore the Gold Coast at your leisure.

Day 3: Gold Coast Free Day (B)
Enjoy the day to explore the Gold Coast at your own pace. From chic cafes and bars, beautiful beaches to exotic animals, dazzling Gold Coast offers a full spectrum of interactive entertainment.

Day 4: Scenic Air Adventure to Charleville, Birdsville & Big Red (B, L, D)
Take an early morning transfer to the Gold Coast Seair hangar and embark on a scenic flight over stunning river farmland, stopping at the central Queensland town of Charleville – home to the Royal Flying Doctor Service base and museum. Continue your flight into the outback crossing over famous Cooper Creek and its remarkable channel country, arriving at the historic town of Birdsville where lunch will be served at the famous hotel. Late afternoon, jump into an air-conditioned vehicle and head west into the Simpson Desert to enjoy drinks on the Big Red sand dune. After sunset, return to Birdsville Hotel for dinner and drinks at their heritage listed front bar.

Day 5: Scenic Air Adventure to Longreach (B, L, D)
Fly north over the Diamantina River bound for Longreach. Learn the story of Australia’s national airline at Qantas Founders Museum and then join a private guided tour of the airpark, home to a Boeing 707, Boeing 747, Super Constellation and DC-3, followed by lunch at the museum. Spend the afternoon at your leisure on a journey of pioneering history through Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame. Late afternoon, climb aboard the only paddlewheeler west of the Great Divide for a sunset cruise down the majestic Thomson River. Head ashore for a traditional stockman’s campfire two-course dinner before settling into your rustic yet beautiful accommodation for the night.

Day 6: Scenic Air Adventure to Lady Elliot Island & Gold Coast (B, L)
Fly southeast over the Central Highlands and coalfields over rich farming lands contrasted against open cut coal mines towards Gladstone for a quick fuel stop. Your journey continues south for a spectacular panoramic flight over the amazing Southern Great Barrier Reef taking in the spectacular Heron Island and Lady Musgrave Island. Swap your boots for reef shoes as you land on the Southern Great Barrier Reef at Lady Elliot Island. Enjoy lunch with lagoon views before joining a private glass bottom boat/guided snorkel tour. Spend the afternoon exploring the Islands surrounds or take a reef walk at low tide (tide dependent). In the late afternoon, take a scenic flight back to the Gold Coast, concluding with a transfer from the Seair hangar to Gold Coast airport.

An initial deposit from $599 per person is required to secure your booking.
The final balance is due 5 months before departure.
If adding domestic flights, the cost of flights is due upon booking.

A single supplement from $500 per person is payable in addition to the twin share price for adult solo occupancy.

If you are unable to travel due to government restrictions or supplier cancellations, we will waive our administration fee and assist with a date change or credit less any unrecoverable third-party costs. Credits are subject to supplier conditions and fare differences may apply upon rebooking.

It is the customer’s responsibility to check the country of departure and country of arrival’s COVID-19 restrictions. Our third party supplier partners (e.g. airlines, cruise lines, accommodation and touring operators etc) may also have additional restrictions. It is the customer’s responsibility to check that all travellers in your party also meet all requirements. The situation is fluid and as such country and state entry requirements, along with third party supplier requirements, are changing frequently. All travellers must comply with their final destination’s immigration and health requirements.

Health requirements are the responsibility of all individual travellers. Should any mandatory quarantine or testing be required, this will be at your own expense and for you to arrange. Please be advised that any costs for these requirements will be at your own expense. Our consultants are not qualified to advise you on vaccinations. Please contact your doctor or a specialist vaccination clinic for advice.

A low level of fitness is required. You will be expected to alight from the aircraft and vehicles unassisted.

Each person is entitled to a strict maximum of one checked bag not exceeding 10kg and one carry on bag not exceeding 2kg on the air tour. Excess luggage can be stored at the hangar.

Please notify us of any special dietary requirements at the time of booking but note that choices may be limited or not catered for.

Complimentary transfer is from Hilton Surfers Paradise to Gold Coast Seair Hangar Coolangatta, and Gold Coast Seair Hangar Coolangatta to Gold Coast Airport.

In the unforeseen event that the whale watching cruise from Surfers Paradise does not operate, a similar cruise from Sea World will be offered.

Every effort will be made to accommodate you in the hotels and properties listed. In the unforeseen event that the listed hotels are not available, properties of similar standard will be provided. All hotel ratings are local or self-ratings provided by the supplier. All rooms will be lead-in category or run of house unless otherwise specified. The standard check-in time is after 2pm and check-out is before 10am. Twin share refers to two people sharing and does not necessarily mean twin beds. Rooms consist of one double bed and requests for 2 beds cannot be guaranteed.

A boxed breakfast will be provided on days with early morning departures. In-room continental breakfast will be provided at Saltbush Retreat.

The operation of the air tour is subject to a minimum of 8 passengers. If the air tour does not operate, we endeavour to arrange a credit or refund with the supplier.

The operating schedule and itinerary may be impacted without notice by adverse weather, seasonal factors, closures, local conditions, COVID-19 or other factors beyond our control including force majeure. The itinerary and its order, sightseeing and transportation may be adjusted as deemed appropriate by the operator for optimum safety, enjoyment and operation.

Final documentation will be emailed within two weeks of departure of the respective travel component.

Force majeure means any natural disaster, accident, fire, act of God, act of war, terrorism, legally binding judgment, injunction, action of a court or other relevant authority, emergency, unplanned repairs, maintenance, strike, industrial dispute, work ban, blockade or picketing, travel ban, pandemic, epidemic or outbreak of infectious disease, or other event beyond our reasonable direct or indirect control. In case of force majeure or other extraordinary event that prevents safe travel, the supplier reserves the right to adjust, postpone or cancel the trip.
