Resort Location

Perfectly positioned on World Heritage-listed Lord Howe Island, off the coast of New South Wales, Arajilla Retreat sits on the northern sheltered end of the island’s scenic lagoon. Just behind Old Settlement Beach, this property is carefully nestled under an imposing canopy of Kentia Palms and Banyan Trees and is the ideal base from which to explore the meandering pathways leading through the native gardens. Lord Howe Island is an easy 2-hour flight from Sydney.

Things To Do

For the adventurers, Lord Howe Island offers epic bush trails, mountain climbs, surf reefs, snorkelling, fishing and cycling tracks. If you’re looking for something a little more slow-paced, play golf beneath the mountains, bask on a deserted beach, indulge in a holistic massage or savour delectable garden-to-plate dishes washed down by fine vintages. Animal lovers will be in their element with more than 500 species of fish, 130 species of birds (both native and migratory) and the unusual Lord Howe Island Stick Insect.

For something a little different, pay a visit to Ball’s Pyramid. Located in the Pacific Ocean 20-kilometres southeast of the island in the protected Marine Park, Ball’s Pyramid is the world’s largest volcanic stack and is home to the endangered Lord Howe Island Land Lobster. This basalt rock wonder is the remnant of an ancient shield volcano that formed over a magma hotspot and its seamount rises 561-metres above sea level.

“The service is outstanding, the facilities are excellent and the scenery is terrific. The island is quiet and tranquil, and there are many places to relax or take long walks. Extremely well located and appointed.”
